[Springfield, MO – May 5, 2021] – Abacus CPAs, LLC is proud to announce that Shannon Terry, CPA, has been awarded the Abacus Values Award for Integrity.  Terry, who joined the firm in September 2012 as a Staff Accountant, rejoined the firm in 2019 as Controller and oversees the firm’s internal accounting, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll and benefits administration.

Shannon Terry earned her Bachelor’s in Accounting in 2010, her Master’s in Accountancy with a certificate in Forensic Accounting in 2012, and her CPA license in 2015.  Terry’s values have remained intact since she started with Abacus, understanding that Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. It’s a value she still believes in today.

“I am trusted with a significant responsibility within the firm and I value the trust placed in me.” Says Terry, “Abacus empowers me – and others – to take ownership and gives me opportunities for personal growth, which helps me provide better guidance so others can make smarter decisions.”

The Abacus Value Award for Integrity recognizes an employee who displays Responsible, Trustworthy and Honest characteristics.  Terry, who has been commended as a moral compass, was a natural choice for the award this year because of her continued responsible dedication.

“Abacus invests in us – as people and employees – and encourages each of us to be our best self.” Says Terry, “As a result, I’ve grown as a leader and become more comfortable sharing my integrity values and beliefs.  I love that we all strive to be better leaders with a growth mindset, it’s a continual learning opportunity.”

The Abacus Values Awards were created in 2020 to recognize individuals who fully exemplify Abacus Values in how they live, work and build relationships with clients and coworkers. Each recipient demonstrated exceptional understanding and achievement in client support and professional relationships.

“We’re proud to recognize outstanding employees who understand, live and embrace our values and know that they embody the best attributes of the firm and our focus on clients and culture,” said John Helms, Partner of Abacus CPAs, LLC, “Our firm continues to grow because of our dedicated, talented employees and I’m proud that we can recognize deserving talent in this capacity.”
